Blood brother Title Sequence

I haven’t watched our documentary Blood Brother in probably 9 years. So after a conversation yesterday abut the film, I sat down and watched it. This was the little film that could and what a powerful trip down memory lane the rewatch was. We shot the whole thing with Canon DSLR cameras and some really cheap Vixia cameras. As the film started to come together, we found the childhood story Rocky was telling about a helping a cat had a theme that set up the film. So we decided to use it as the title sequence of the film. We wanted to explore transitioning from one scene to another without hard cuts, much like how memories bleed into one another. Kris Boban animated the piece under the creative direction of Steve Hoover. Sound designed by our great friend Dallas Taylor at Defacto Sound.
