Blogging 101

Got a shorter one for today. About 15 years ago, we were approached by Epitaph Records to pitch on a music video for a rather new band called Farewell. The song was called First One On The Blog. Being that it was the early 2000s and the whole Myspace genre of photos and blogging was hot, we pitched the idea of having a school for blogging so to speak with a sprinkle of Breakfast Club style comedy.

Somehow we convinced this particular school to let us kind of have full reign of this particular building for 24 hours. We had to film the performance at night, and I think it was the Dean of something or another’s office. So after the performance we slept in hour cars for an hour or two before having to film the concept in the classroom. My best friend from High School is the nerdy star. I believe we put out a casting call to craigslist as well as at the school we filmed out. We got lucky with a great turnout.

Me and Steve Hoover shot this with Jeff VanderMolen gaffing, Merissa Lombardo handling art. And a bunch of friends helping out (Allan Barch, Matthew Gromley, Shannon Barry). Not a whole lot more to say about it other than this was a fun little comedy narrative and I still laugh watching it.
