Pay with a Photo

About this project

We teamed up with Deeplocal on this event and it was a blast. Deeplocal was to create a food truck activation where diners pay for their food with a photo. Each participant was given 20 seconds to find a photo on a given topic, while the emcee coached them on how to find a photo fast with Google Photos. We spent the week with them documenting this and helped craft the visual messaging. The campaign garnered press in TechCrunch, Creativity Online and the LA Times.

PUMPKIN PATCH

In order to push Google Photos, Google hosted a surprise pumpkin patch event, called Pumpkin Patch NYC, in Times Square yesterday.

Visitors could wander around piles of pumpkins, get a personalized gourd carved by a special machine, and take hundreds of selfies, of course. Attendees were also able to take specialized photos in the Google Photos Photo Booth, which were then splashed across a giant billboard in Times Square.

Professional pumpkin carvers showcased their artwork alongside live musicians. The event obviously didn't forget about the foodies, either: Fall favorites like pumpkin spice lattes and apple cider donuts were served to customers who pay with a photo.
